A service is mostly a functional repair, preserves good condition, but to a lesser degree also solves cosmetic issues.

• Removing easily accessible, or major dents.
  (Important to note, that because it's mainly about functional repair, dents and scratches won't be removed completely, because that would go beyond the scope of a service.)

• Replacing missing or bad parts

• Soldering

• Fixing mechanical issues

• Replacing bumpers, felts and waterkey corks

• Repairing slides

• Buffing
  (Servicing (nickel, silver, or gold) plated instruments involves removing oxidation. Its cost is added to the usual price. It is shown with a '+' sign in brackets, those are not net and gross values. Net and gross prices are equal in all instances (0% VAT rate), which is perfectly legal for certain businesses like mine under Hungarian laws.)

• Making bell rim protectors (if the customer wishes), or replacing the old one.

The cleaning of mouthpieces and dent work on them, replacement of a few screws, etc. doesn't cost extra if done as a part of a complete service or overhaul, only if nothing else is required. See: Minor repairs.

 

It's possible that I won't be able to give a quotation at first glance if I have to order a part. If so, I'll try to give information in 24 hours, or in 1 week at most.
